I have the pleasure to introduce this second volume of our publication on the “Costumes of Iraq’, issued in the form of drawings derived from original antiquities. Although the volume is called “Babylonian. Costumes”, it actually deals with fashion and hairdressing once fami liar over a long period extending from 2350 B.C. to 1160 B.C. or in another word from the foundation of the Akkadian Empire until the downfall of the Cassites, a period during which emerged in the Orient many other peoples; yet the Babylonians themselves the Amorite Semites were most prominent and their Kingdom most important.
